It’s a good thing that LeBron James (he’s earned the right not to be called by his nickname, “NoDefense Suckballs”, with his actions tonight) hit that game-winning three, because if Domantas Sabonis’ game-tying shot had been a deciding factor, that would’ve been lame as heck. Because it was a lame shot. Real talk.
What kind of defense were the Cavs playing where they gave up a wide-open, uncontested, free-throw-line jumper? Those kind of shots NEVER happen in the NBA, and Cleveland messed up so bad that they gave one to a decent-ish shooter in the closing seconds of a tight game? It was probably LeBron’s fault (living up to the “NoDefense” part of his nickname), but I’m not going to go back and look at the footage to check. You’re just going to have to trust me on this one.
Sabonis, even without that lame-as-heck game-tier, had a really nice game. Myles Turner fouled himself out of existence, I’m really on his bandwagon but he sucked tonight, and then Sabonis stepped up and hit a whole bunch of shots. He’s good too. I like him a lot, even if he doesn’t shoot threes anymore and all of his post-ups end up with lefty finishes.
