The biggest news from this game: Jaylen Brown went 7 of 8 from the stripe. That’s right up there with his famous and oft-replayed 7 of 7 performance back in February against the Hornets. Do you remember where you were when he had that perfect night? I do. I was making highlights at my computer while steaming because Giannis had a really crappy night.
Tonight, though, he supplemented his elite foul shooting with a whole bunch of other buckets. So many other buckets that he scored 30 points. That’s the other biggest news from this game: he looked confident and smooth out there scoring the basketball.
Things haven’t been going so well for him this season. That’s no secret, even if Celtics fans wish that people would just ignore all the players on their team except for Kyrie Irving. I don’t need to go into all the reasons for his regression (*coughGordonwheezeHaywardsnort*), but at least some of it has to do with confidence. I think. It’s cliche, but seeing a bunch of stuff go in tonight will likely help him out next game.
Or, he’ll go back to sucking and I can go back to watching Celtics fans implode.
