OFFICIAL DTB DISCLAIMER: This video does not depict each of Jarrett Allen’s 24 rebounds. That would be foolishness. Rebounding is cool and I’m glad there are players that do it, but most rebounds are just a guy jumping up, getting the ball, and coming back down. Sometimes a fun rebound battle will happen where there’s a lot of volleyball action going on, and sometimes a player will grab a clutch rebound in the face of adversity, but most rebounds are just rebounds. So I didn’t show them. I only noted them because it was more than twenty.
With this 20/20 game, Jarrett Allen had added his name to the list of players who have at least one such game this season. It’s pretty good company: Steven Adams (1), Giannis Antetokounmpo (1), Clint Capela (3), Anthony Davis (3), Andre Drummond (7), Joel Embiid (1), Rudy Gobert (1), Nikola Jokic (1), Enes Kanter (2 [burgers]), Jusuf Nurkic (1), Ben Simmons (1), Karl-Anthony Towns (4), and Hassan Whiteside (3). That’s pretty much just a list of All-Star or near-All-Star-level players, and Allen’s on it.
Am I saying that Allen is an All-Star this year? No. Far from it. But in the coming years? Hell yeah.
