When Malik Beasley came in the game late in the third quarter, the Nuggets were down by 20. When he left the game, at the end, the Nuggets were up by 3. Obviously, not all the credit for the huge comeback win goes to Beasley (some of it begrudgingly goes to Will Barton, and of course Nikola Jokic is always involved in whatever good stuff happens in Denver). But a lot of it does. He hit the three to get it within one, and then got the assist for the shot that took the lead (not shown because screw you). Plus all the intangibles or whatever that he brought to the table
His emergence this season has been a nice surprise for the Nuggets. Having role-players like him is what takes pretty good teams (like Denver last season) at bumps them up into elite teams (like Denver right now, don’t @ me). I wasn’t expecting much of anything from him this season, because dudes averaging 3 ppg for multiple seasons aren’t usually much of anything, but here he is, averaging 10 per game and seemingly hitting every jumper he takes.
By the way, ignore the fact that he was 3-of-9 from deep in this game. He’s still shooting 41 from all the way back there, so just forget about it.
