Since Monte “Montains of Madness” Morris and Malik Beasley clearly have the point guard and shooting guard positions well-covered for the Nuggets, now is the time to orchestrate a big-time trade for Anthony Davis and gun for a championship. Am I being facetious right now? I can’t really tell.
Here’s my proposed trade: Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Paul Millsap, and a first round pick for Anthony Davis, Julius Randle, and E’Twaun Moore. The salaries match in my head, but I’m not sure if they match in real life. That doesn’t matter right now because I’m not actually the GM of either team so it’s not my responsibility to make sure that it makes sense. I’m just an internet commentator overreacting to Morris’ recent run of strong play (and Beasley’s 35-point game). Who cares if AD won’t commit long-term to any team but the Lakers? The Raptors didn’t care about that when they traded for Kawhi so the Nuggets shouldn’t care about it when trading for AD. A championship-winning one-two punch of Davis/Jokic would make AD rethink his plans anyway.
Say it with me: “Monte Morris will be the starting point guard for a championship-winning team.” Is that not the most awesome sentence ever?
