Why are you watching this video? Why are you reading these words? There’s a Super Bowl to watch, and if you’re not really interested in football, there’s at least snacks to be consumed. You can’t tell, but I’m typing this description with fingers absolutely ENCASED in buffalo sauce with little bits of blue cheese dipping sauce sprinkled throughout. And I’m just getting started. I suggest you do the same, but if you try to order the wings now, they’ll probably laugh in your face for not preordering a month ago and getting your name on the priority list.
If you decide to waste time by consuming this highlight package that could be spent celebrating America’s most beloved tradition of watching advertisements, you’re in for a treat. This is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at his midrangiest. He has some other attractive parts to his game, like Eurosteps and general lengthiness, but his midrange game is really the star of the show. It’s just so nice to see in this day and age of endlessly chucked threes that there is a rookie who knows how it should be done.
Corey Maggette likes it, you can tell. That guy was never very good at shooting threes. I don’t know if I especially like him as a commentator (I do know I didn’t like him with the Bucks), but at least it appears he can talk in coherent sentences without stumbling over his words. That’s a big head start on a lot of players-turned-commentators in the league.
