I will say this about Trevor Ariza: he can still whamjam on people when given the chance. He had an appearance in last months dunkilation (albeit sans replay because the Wizards broadcast people wouldn’t know a good dunk if it slapped them in the nads while screaming “John Wall is a bust!”), and he had a few appearances last year as well. He totally stuffed one on Omari Spellman’s chubby booty here against the Hawks, a dunk that I think deserved more than one replay. Some teams go all out for even the most mediocre dunks; three, four, even five replays for dunks where there isn’t even a defender in the area. Not the ‘Zards, though. I think they hate dunks in general.
When this 25-point performance happened, no one knew that John Wall was going to take a fall in his home (like an old person), rupture his Achilles, and be out for 12 months. But since we are currently inhabiting the future (everything is covered in chrome just as SpongeBob predicted), we know of this sad happening, and we can talk about how it affects Ariza.
Short answer: since Wall was out already and has been the whole time Ariza’s been with the ‘Zards, I can’t imagine this will affect him very much.
Long answer: who cares about Ariza?
