Just what the doctor ordered for Trey Lyles: a nice, pressure-free blowout loss for Trey Lyles to come in and shoot some nice, pressure-free shots. They go in? Great, it means you’re breaking out of your slump! They don’t go in? Who cares, we’re going to lose by 20 to the Pistons (LMAO) no matter what you do! It’s a win-win situation for Lyles and the Pistons. And kinda for the Nuggets too, because in addition to trying to un-slump Lyles they got to try and un-bust Tyler Lydon. That part didn’t work, I think that guy is beyond help.
It’s a testament to how bad the Nuggets were last night that Lyles was their leading scorer. I mean, sometimes they have really evenly distributed scoring and it means that they’re just really kicking butt. So I guess it’s not automatically bad that Lyles was their best bucket-getter. But it was tonight. How do you lose to the Pistons by so much? At home, where they can barely breathe the air? Gotta not let Andre Drummond dominate Nikola Jokic so hard next time.
