Longtime DTB viewers may remember my campaign promise from the 2016 highlight-maker presidential election to make sure that every one of my videos was over a minute long. Like most campaign promises, my words were empty; while I have made some effort to boost too-short video over the one-minute mark and to avoid entirely the ones that have no hope of making it, I have broken my promise several times in the intervening years.
And I have now broken it again. I guess, if I had really tried, I could have drawn out the footage of Treveon Graham scoring 16 points to meet my (arbitrary) threshold. But would it have made the video better? No. It would have made it longer, and nothing more. It’s not like I can conjure up a bucket where there was no bucket, or a replay where there was no replay. And it’s not my fault that Graham scored 16 (an actually good point total for him) while only making 6 shots and doing nothing else.
For the record, I did not win that election (DawkIns rigged the vote), so I don’t know why my campaign promises from it should have to hold any weight anyway.
