Under normal circumstances, a pedestrian statline of 22/16/3 for Nikola Jokic would not be worthy of highlights, given that he averages 20/10/8. But these are not normal circumstances. There were only three games tonight, so I get off easy in terms of the amount of highlight videos that need to get made. Frankly, I’m very thankful that the NBA had the foresight to schedule a night with three games right after a day where twelve games were played, because it’s a lot of work to make thirty highlight videos for one day’s worth of games.
The only notable thing about this performance by Jokic is actually something that’s notable in its non-notability: he only had three assists, and two of them were pretty lame. The third one, to Malik Beasley for a three-pointer, was kind of cool because the Joker took the inbound pass and went 90 feet upcourt with it. But, overall, it was not an exciting passing display by Jokic. You could probably pick any other game of his and watch cooler passes. In fact, three assists is his season-low in that stat, which is pretty crazy when you start thinking about it.
Nikola Jokic videos are basically required viewing for all Serbs, so I expect this video to get a decent amount of views regardless. I could upload a video of him picking his nose and eating the spoils and people would still watch it.
