Unlike B.J. Johnson, we have seen Jaylen Adams before. A lot of him, actually, he had played around 100 minutes before last night. Non-Hawks fans may not have seen him actually on the court, and I can’t remember if I have or not, but Hawks fans certainly know all about this dude.
My first impression: he reminds me a lot of Malcolm Brogdon. Those are just the vibes that I am getting. Usually when I get vibes informing me that a player is a good comparison for another player, the comparison player is some sort of star, but Brogdon is good too. I think it’s the shooting motion. And his face. He actually looks sorta like a combo of Brogdon and Eric Bledsoe now that I look closer.
My second impression: are we sure that this isn’t Jaylen Morris? I’m already confused.
My third impression: 14 points is a lot, especially in non-garbage time for a team that was trying to win the game. Add in the four assists he had, and we’ve got a really sick performance on our hands. We’re getting towards that time of year where sub-marginal players start getting minutes, and with this performance I’m now confident that he can score 20 before the year is up.
