Rodions Kurucs hasn’t been doing a whole lot on the court for the last month or so. I don’t know if it’s because players returned from injury or what, but I do know that I don’t like it one bit. I need Kurucs to play well for two reasons: one, there’s a surprising amount of Latvian people out there, and a good portion of them desire nothing more in life than to watch their skinny countryman do damage in NBA games. Two, I need more opportunities to advance my ingenious and revolutionary new nickname for Kurucs.
In case you missed the debut of this new nickname of my own creation, I’ll give you a reminder:
“The Rod-Show”.
It’s pronounced “Roadshow” and it’s the perfect nickname because it implies that there will be a “show” every time Kurucs steps on the court. The only problem I can see with it is that it really works better said out loud than it does in print. In print, it looks like the name of an X-rated film which features no female participants. That’s a problem because it limits my ability to sell T-Shirts with the nickname on it next to a picture of Kurucs’ face.
Then again, maybe I can still sell the T-Shirts as long as I expand my marketing efforts to include a different class of clientele. The kind of clientele who want to let other guys know that they are interested in observing or taking part in a “Rod-Show”. If anybody knows more about this market, including their willingness to pay ten dollars for a screen-printed T-Shirt, let me know.
