Avery Bradley is playing so much better in Memphis than he was in LA (at least, he is on offense – DTB does not care about defense) that one has to wonder if the Clippers front office is feeling a little sore about the whole trade. Sure, they got Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green in return, and those guy are fine players, but they have to be wondering what caused Bradley to magically change from a chucker on an albatross contract to a more accurate chucker on a fair contract.
Maybe the difference is that Memphis doesn’t have any kind of Lou Williams-esque player who takes up a lot of minutes and shots and the shooting guard position. In Memphis, Bradley is free to be who he wants to be because there’s not usually many options on the court at any one time who can pick up the scoring load.
The more I think about it, the more I think that this is the real reason why Bradley is scoring 16 PPG with the Grizz as opposed to 8 PPG with the Clips. And that scares me because, usually, my reasons for things are totally unfounded and wrong. This has an air of truth about it. And I were to actually provide insightful, truthful NBA commentary in my video descriptions, people would start expecting it as a matter of course. That is WAY too much stress and responsibility on me.
