Kris Dunn 18 Points/9 Assists Full Highlights (3/12/2019)

Remember when the Timberwolves completely gave up on Kris Dunn and threw him in as a sweetener on the LaVine+Markkanen/Butler trade? Now the Timberwolves had to ship Butler out of Minnesota in order to keep KAT happy, while the Bulls’ entire young core is basically the three guys they got in return for that trade.

I am LMAOing right now at my desk. If I wasn’t sitting down my ass would have fallen right off my body and walked out the door. That’s how LMAOful I am right now. My LMAOness is tempered only slightly by my memories of another three-for-one trade where the Bucks got Samuel Dalembert (fat garbage) in exchange for Jon Brockman (sucks), Jon Leuer (was good for a while) and Shaun Livingston (good up until this season). That trade wasn’t as ridiculously lopsided as the Butler trade, but it made me very angry at the time and it’s making me slightly upset even now, seven years later.

Anyway, back to Kris Dunn. He was pretty close to what would have been his second double-double of the season, falling just one assist short (he didn’t spam enough passes). Perpetual double-doubles were probably expected of him back before his rookie season when people thought he was a lock for ROTY of the year, but now expectations have changed. Could you still call him a bust if he never gets better than the level he’s at now? Maybe. But I’m holding out hope because the better he gets, the more terrible the Butler trade looks in retrospect.
