Damyean Dotson 21 Points Full Highlights (3/15/2019)

Damyean Dotson, in my utterly biased view as a creator of highlights (and not lowlights), has looked pretty good for the Knicks this season. There are definitely things he can improve on, but when I see a guy who can shoot jumpers coming off screens, I know that that player is for real. Because if you can do that, or even pretend to do that, it just changes the whole complexion of the game. You can run around like a maniac for a whole possession, and even if no one even considers passing you the ball, someone has to be running around with you and running into screens and stuff. Compare that to a player who just stands around while their defender just stands there with them. One of those players is making the defense think. The other is Russell Westbrook when he doesn’t have the ball.

And if you’re not convinced, just think about how good he’s going to look when Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving join him to make a new big three that will be nicknamed “KDKIDD” after their initials. He’s already shown that he can make shots on a team that has no other outside threats (looking at the Knicks lineup this game, the fact that they made 8 total threes is a god-damn miracle), but when he has space to operate? He’ll be like the black JJ Redick except without the whole “peeing on girls” part.

If you watch this video closely, you’ll notice that DeAndre Jordan was doing a lot of the passing to Dotson. I don’t know what this means for the future of the Knicks offense for these last few games, but I do know that Jordan is really going to want a triple-double after coming one assist short. And it’ll be up to Dotson to get him there.
