Andre Iguodala 16 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (5/4/2019)

All I’m asking for is one game, one performance, from a Warriors role-player not named Andre Iguodala that’s good enough for me to make highlights of. But rotations get tighter in the playoffs, and the Warriors’ collection of role-players isn’t very good to begin with, so I might be hoping in vain. We already got the Cousins injury that led to Iguodala being inserted into the starting lineup; we might have to hope for another injury so that some minutes can be opened up for the likes of Quinn Cook and Alfonzo McKinnie. The casual NBA fan might desire high-scoring performances from stars, but I am unable to escape my appreciation of the role-player.

Right now, the Warriors have gotten a total of 31 points from their bench this series. 10 points in game one, 14 points (WOW!!!!) in game two, and 7 in this game. Their highest point total for a bench player is 6, set by Shawn Livingston and Kevon Looney. I want to say that this lack of bench production is going to hurt them in the end, but everyone knows it’s not. Not when they can stagger minutes so that one of Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant is on the court at all times.

So I would not be surprised if the only Warriors vids you guys get from me during these ‘offs are for Iguodala. Which sucks, because here’s the deal: I don’t even really like this guy. Not only because he collaborated with Mark Jackson to ruin a promising Nuggets team a few years ago, but because he’s so much worse than he used to be. He used to be a mini-LeBron, I guess he still kinda is, but he’s mostly just a guy who takes advantage of openings to get wide open dunks and sometimes hits threes (but not free throws). In my mind, he’s still a sort-of All-Star, not a true scrubby role-player.

God damn, all I want is ONE 13-point-ish game from, like, Jonas Jerebko. That’s not even that many points, come on.
