Maurice Harkless 17 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (5/14/2019)

The problem, as I see it, for the Trailblazers in this series is that they have to start both Maurice Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu. Mike Breen might call them “wildcards”, which is framing it in the best way possible, but if I were an elite playoff-caliber team, I’d want to replace one of those dudes, possibly both of them, with someone who can score the rock.

“Buhbuhbuhbut DEE TEE BEE!” you wail as you close your multiple tabs of Japanese googly-eyed tentacle hentai, refresh Equestria Daily one more time, and then open up the box score for this game. “Mo Buckets had 17 points… does that not qualify as ‘scoring the rock??????’. No. Be quiet. You will spoke when spoken to.

Sure, Harkless had 17 in this game. He should be commended for his excellent effort in the face of adversity. That’s what I’m doing right now. Commending him. But while he may have scored a decent amount, he’s never going to be a guy that defenses key in on, which only makes things harder for Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. You can leave him wide open from three and he will hardly make you pay. Same with Aminu.

I’ll give the Trailblazers one more game to try and make things work with this current lineup. After all, it is the lineup that got them all the way to the WCF Conference Finals; there must be something good about it, some sort of hidden chemistry or elements that I am not aware of that make it better than it seems on paper. But if they lose big again, I’d seriously be thinking about starting Jake Layman. You might think I am “trolling”, but I assure you that I am not.
