Coby White 17 Points/7 Assists Bulls Debut Full Highlights (10/23/2019)

I get the feeling that I’m going to be making a lot of Coby White highlights this season. Since I will, over the course of the next few months, have to write a lot of material on White, I’ll save some of the low-hanging fruit for later. In the highlights slog that is February and March, it will be nice to take some time off by writing obvious words that take no effort to come up with. That means that this description will go by without me even once mentioning his luscious, flowing, manelike, and, frankly, erotic afro. I will save that subject matter for more dire times.

Instead, I’ll talk about a stat that was nicely displayed on screen during the Bulls’ broadcast: Coby White was the second-highest scorer in the preseason, scoring 19.2 PPG per game, only behind Zion “Exploding Knees” Williamson and his 23.3 PPG per game. R.J. Barrett lagged behind in third place with a lowly 15.8 PPG per game.

I’ve already mentioned in previous descriptions from last night that preseason doesn’t mean much, except when it does. In this case, I think it means something. White’s preseason scoring demonstrates to us that he is ready to shoulder some scoring load for the Bulls right away, and he doesn’t care which teammates he pisses of while he does it. Are Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn throwing Waiters-esque tantrums in the locker room right now? No. Because everybody should be out of the locker room by now. But they totally could have been. Or they’re happily supporting their rookie like good teammates, but that’s not a very fun story.
