Jarrett Culver 15 Points/7 Assists Full Highlights (11/6/2019)

Jarrett Culver’s 5-game streak of 1-assist performances comes to a tragic end in Memphis, with him finishing with 7 assists to go with 15 points. Sad! I blame Andrew Wiggins for actually making some shots for once (is it just me or has not been as garbage this year) as well as Karl-Anthony Towns for making shots like he usually does but not waiting until long enough after Culver passed him the ball.

Like with a few other rookies in the class, it startles me a little bit to see that Culver was drafted so high. 6th overall, when a team drafts someone that high, that means that they’re supposed to be good. Once you get into the double-digits, maybe you have more projects and raw players, but single-digit draftees should be able to come in and be semi-effective right away.

“Semi-effective” might be pushing it for Culver at this point, but at least he’s performing better than, like, Darius Garland, who I don’t think has made a shot yet this season. With this huge assist performance, he’s brought his assist-to-turnover ratio to a nice 1:1, and he hit some decent-looking buckets as well. His three-point form is kinda wonky, though. Too much of a windup.
