Kelly Oubre 30 Points Full Highlights (11/14/2019)

How long until Kelly Oubre’s “do pushups every time I end up on the floor” shtick becomes played out? Or is it already played out? Perhaps I’m turning into a grumpy old man, perhaps I’ve always been a grumpy old man trapped in a young man’s body. Suns fans seem to like it still, but if there’s anything I know about people who actually attend games in person, it’s that they’re the most sheepy sheeple imaginable. It was cool the first time, every other time, no. It’s just cheesy.

And dangerous. Remember when Kevin Love injured himself doing knuckle pushups and had to sit out a few months? And those were just knuckle pushups. The full-hand variety only introduces more vectors for injury. It would seriously dampen the fun-ness of this current Suns season if Oubre took himself out of commission by hamming it up for the crowd.

Perhaps Oubre himself already agrees with me; he had a perfect chance for more pushups at the end of this vid, and he held himself back, having already performed the act earlier in the game. Perhaps he is phasing out that particular celebration so he can do more of those little mini-headbang things that he does. Those are cool, headbanging is cool, he can keep doing that as much as he wants.

And no, I’m not even going to mention that he scored 30 in this game. Who cares about point totals and actual game actions when you can care about extraneous frivolities?
