Cameron Johnson 17 Points Full Highlights (11/27/2019)

Cameron “Viva la Cam” Johnson is one of seven rookies currently shooting over 40% from three, excluding rookies who haven’t taken a meaningful amount of attempts from there (sorry Mfiondu Kabengele, your three-of-five shooting doesn’t qualify here). Johnson is, along with Kendrick Nunn and Ky Bowman, shooting a considerably higher volume than the other four (who are Brandon Clarke, P.J. Washington, Terence Davis, and Ja Morant, in case you wanted to know), so there is a serious case to be made for him being the best three-point shooter in this rookie class. He’s at least the best three-point shooter in his draft class because then you get to remove Nunn, Bowman, and Davis from the equation.

I have never been more thankful in my life that the Suns dropped the annoying commercialistic shtick of saying “Fulton Homes donates one hundred dollars to Suns charities” after every three-pointer. Every video I made for this exciting young rookie would be utterly ruined by the inclusion of such a phrase. Reducing a skilled long-range shooter into a vector for dubiously-motivated charity donations from a company who builds cookie-cutter suburban houses is insulting. I should have made a Fulton Homes-ilation last season just so people could get a true sense of how annoying that was.

Now the only thing I can complain about in regards to the Suns’ broadcast is how Marv Albert’s non-senile brother is no longer announcing for them. Can he come back? If he can’t come back, can he at least come to Milwaukee and replace Jim Paschke?
