Frank Kaminsky truly lived up to his nickname of “Frank the Bank” by being totally money in this game, going 9-of-12 from the field for 24 points, three off his career high of 27. I’m not sure if people are actually using this nickname or of I’m the only one, but its usage will certainly increase now that Kaminsky has had a really good scoring game for the Suns.
They’ll have no other choice, right? You can’t call him “Frank the Tank” because the Suns aren’t tanking and he’s also not physically imposing enough to be comparable to a tank. Tanks are formidable foes on the battlefield. If Civilization III taught me anything, it’s that armies of tanks will easily roll over armies of cavalry and they will easily fell the defenses of a city. An army of Frank Kaminskys would not roll over anything.
If this one-game hot streak doesn’t continue (and I have no reason to really believe that it will), we can revert to calling him “Frank the Stank” because he’s stanky. If he’s not scoring, he’s not contributing enough in other ways for him to be useful. That’s stank if I’ve ever seen it.
