Darius Garland 20 Points/5 Assists Full Highlights (12/16/2019)

One of the stats that was making the rounds on social media in the last few days was this troubling one about Darius Garland (probably more troubling about the Cavaliers in general, actually): he’s leading the Cavaliers in assists at 2.9 per game. Are you troubled? You should be troubled, due to the troubling nature of the stat.

However, consider that stat utterly obsolete. Because after tonight’s game, Garland has elevated his Cavs-leading assist per game numbers to a nice even 3.0! What was once a totally pathetic number is now completely reasonable and solid. It’s still not good that no one else on the Cavaliers can manage more assists, but 3.0 is a whole integer more than 2.9, that is a fact of math that cannot be denied.

If you want to remain un-troubled, please refrain from looking at his turnover stats. Just a word of warning. I was feeling all optimistic about him and now I’m not anymore. Actually, just don’t look at ANY of his other stats. Pretend that he doesn’t have stats. Just watch these highlights and convince yourself that he ISN’T one of the very worse players in the entire league. I must say, this vid did a good job of fooling me at least.
