Trey Lyles 17 Points Full Highlights (12/23/2019)

One of the biggest surprises of the last few years was Trey Lyles somehow managing to turn himself into a decent scorer for the Nuggets. His peak lasted a few weeks from December of 2017 to January of 2018, after which he kind of went back to being the same old Lyles as before, but what a glorious time that was. I probably made 70 or 80 vids for him that season. That’s what it feels like, anyway.

I don’t watch the Spurs much, so I don’t know what the HECK happened to him this year. He’s hardly shooting it at all, his field goal attempts per minute are way lower than they were even in Utah. From what I can tell, he’s tried to turn himself into a pure rebounder. A PURE REBOUNDER. Why is he grabbing so many rebounds? What’s going on?

This is his first good offensive game this season. If this performance had happened during his “prime” in Denver, I probably wouldn’t have even made a vid for it, but these days, this is about the equivalent of James Harden scoring 80. And you would absolutely watch the highlights of that performance, so why not this one? Lyles doesn’t really have any fans, but I hope to convert at least a few neutrals with this highlight package.
