I’m not usually one to obsess about which players are “bitches”, but even in the bitch-ignorant reality that I have carefully crafted for myself, I am well aware of Marquese “Marqueso” “Sea-Cheese” Chriss’ reputation in the league. And that reputation is not a good one. He has the reputation of being a bitch. So much so that I am currently calling him “Bitch Cheese”.
Basketball gets heated sometimes. Hard fouls are committed and, in the heat of competition, tempers flare. A run of missed shots, bad calls, or perceived “dirty” plays can quickly culminate into a physical confrontation. But Bitch Cheese always seems to pick the most random and unexpected times to start picking fights with people, and that’s what makes him more of a bitch than a player who only gets aggressive when the situation truly calls for it.
What precipitated the fight in this video was Luka Doncic hooking Chriss on a rebound. A few seconds before, Chriss had thoroughly rejected Doncic’s layup attempt, so some words of trash talk may have been exchanged there. Whatever was said, and however intentional Doncic’s grab was, Chriss reacted in the bitchiest way possible by pushing Doncic into the cameramen with two hands. But such a reaction would be expected from somebody whose nickname is Bitch Cheese.
Unfortunately, the altercation will overshadow the good things Chriss did in this game: alley oops, blocked shots, and free throws. None of those things appear on his resume in the minds of the average NBA fan. Instead, that resume is just a list of all the bitch things that he’s done in his career.
