With this single game, Kelly Oubre improved his three point percentage from 32% to 34%. We’re almost halfway through the season, so you wouldn’t expect a big swing like that just from one game, but Oubre took ten three-pointers (twice as many as he takes in an average game) and made seven of them, so the math works out. Well, it probably works out, anyway. I’m not going to redo the math just to make sure that it’s correct.
Seven is also career high by far in three-pointers made for Oubre (previous career high: five), so his unprecedented accuracy and volume from deep in this game means that I don’t begrudge him at all that he blew about ten kisses to the Portland fans after his final, game-sealing three-pointer. He earned the right to do something goofy like that. And you just know that all the females in attendance were swooning at the thought that Oubre was blowing kisses in their direction.
I wonder what would happen if I started blowing kisses after making a three-pointer in a pickup game. Probably somebody would yell at me to get back on defense. Joke’s on them, I’m too skinny to be an adequate defender (watching me get bodied while trying to defend the drive is probably the most pathetic thing ever), so it doesn’t really matter if I get back on defense or of I just stand around and flex on people after hitting a jumper.
