I was really on the fence about making this video, considering the low point total (this dude scoring only 13 is like Stephen Curry only scoring 40), but come on man. SIX blocks for Enes Kanter. That’s a career high by far, surpassing his previous high of four. If nothing else, I had to see what those blocks looked like for myself.
You know that you have to temper your expectations before seeing this. He’s not going to be doing his best JaVale McGee impression, skying high to block nearly unreachable shots and mixing in a few goaltends. He’s not going to be going all Brook Lopez on people, baiting shots by staying flat-footed and then rising and swatting them right as they leave the hand. He’s not going to chase people down on the fast break like LeBron James and take away what seemed to be an easy layup.
No, what we’re going to get is him swiping down on the ball like he’s Dirk Nowitzki. Perhaps (or definitely) the lamest kind of block, but a block nonetheless. I mean, we should really just be happy that he was playing any defense at all, and not worry about the aesthetics of the defense being played.
