Has Darius Garland turned the proverbial corner? Has he stopped playing like a slug and started playing like a 5th overall pick? Has he he figured out the intricacies of the NBA game and will now start playing with pose and confidence?
I don’t know about all of that, but he was pretty good tonight. Good enough where you can look at this game and be like “yeah, that’s a really solid performance from a blue-chip prospect, he is definitely worthy of his draft slot”. Those were the exact words that came out of my mouth when I saw this boxscore. I just kind of said them out loud to nobody in particular. But I wasn’t talking to myself, I’m not crazy or anything. I was just verifying that my opinion was good enough to be spoken instead of hidden away in my brain forever.
After his recent streak of good-ish games, we can all just back up from the “he’s the worst player in the league” stuff. He may have been at a point earlier in the season, but now he’s not even the worst on his own team, not even close. That honor goes to Matthew Dellavedova probably. That new shooting form is not working out for him at all.
