Are Wizards fans upset that Ian Mahinmi is only just now starting to produce at a level equivalent to his contract? Or are they happy that Ian Mahinmi is producing at all, given that they’ve had to endure three years of total nothingness from him? How much of this anger/non-anger is directed towards the front office for offering that sixty million dollar contract in the first place, and how much of it is directed at Mahinmi himself?
I actually want ‘Zards fans, if they’re out there, to answer this one since when I pose these sort of targeted questions I only rarely get more than one response, and often I get zero. I need to know the inner workings of every fanbase so that I can more effectively pander to them in future video descriptions by reciting their exact opinions back at them. I’ll even make the question easier: WIZARDS FANS PLEASE RATE YOUR HATRED OF IAN MAHINMI ON A SCALE FROM ZERO (NO HATE) TO TEN (ABSOLUTE BLINDING HATE WHICH HAS OVERTAKEN YOUR SOUL).
One thing that would bother me if I were a ‘Zards fan is that Mahinmi has now shown that he can be a scoring force on the court. Maybe not consistently, but often enough that the money that his contract pays him isn’t totally wasted. Why didn’t he show this at any point in the past three years? Coaching can’t be the only thing to blame, because, even if Mahinmi was getting DNP’s or getting misused/played out of position, he would still be practicing with the team and would have plenty of chances to “show out”. At this point, I would assume that Mahinmi decided that he wants another NBA contract, so he has to play like he deserves one. Maybe he’s been taking lessons from Trevor Ariza on that.
