Tony Snell 16 Points Full Highlights (1/20/2020)

Since I just got done making a Nicolo Melli highlight video, it got me thinking: how popular would Tony Snell be if he were actually Italian and his name was Antonio Snelli?

Italians aren’t overwhelming in their support of their countrymen in the same way that, say, Serbs, Croats, or Lithuanians are. Still, my videos for Italian players generally see higher view counts than you would expect if just looking at a player’s statistical contributions. For example, my Luigi Datome videos (deleted in the DTBpocalypse of February 2018) were viewed tens of thousands of times despite Datome being a below-average NBA player. Somebody like Snell, who is not above average or below average but is simply average, would get me hella view counts if he just happened to be from Italy instead of the United States.

I think the best we can hope for in this situation is that Snell decides the NBA isn’t for him and he goes to play in Italy instead. After a few years in The Leagio Basketballio Italiano, collecting MVP’s and Championships, he could return to the NBA with his legions of new Italian fans following him every step of the way. I would be sad if the NBA was Snell-less for a few years, but I think I would get over it eventually.

(P.S. I apologize for this video not being at least a minute long. I tried my best. I really did)

(P.S.S. personal message to Tony: stop statpadding at the end of games, you’ve never statpadded in your life and you shouldn’t start now)

(P.S.S.S. did I just accuse a player who put up a statline of 16/1/0/0/0 of statpadding?)
