OFFICIAL DTB PROCLAMATION OF LOVE:
I love Khris Middleton. But that’s not who this video is about.
OFFICIAL DTB PROCLAMATION OF LOVE PART II:
I love Donte DiVincenzo.
On a night when Middleton stuffed the Wizards in the face with his fifty-burger, on a night when the Bucks scored 88 points in the first half, I have a lot of love coursing through my veins. I like to pretend that I am a neutral, emotionless observer of all NBA basketball games, but that’s a lie. I get hyped for the Bucks and I especially get hyped for this iteration of the Bucks that could…gasp…possibly bring a championship back to Milwaukee.
Saying those words out loud (or typing them, as the case may be) seems strange and forbidden. Maybe I should delete that line. Nah, I’m leaving it.
Unlike some of the Bucks’ other young players, who make me nervous when they enter the game because they’re prone to screw-ups, DiVincenzo doesn’t make me nervous. If he’s screwing up out there, I don’t even notice because he’s doing so many things right. And he might be the first player in the history of the universe to make me care about defense a little bit. DownToBuck generally does not care about defense, but when a young player on my preferred team is excelling at that facet of the game, it grabs my attention.
