Where are all the haters who were hating on the Kings for giving Cory Joseph a three-year, 36 million dollar deal in free agency? I don’t see them, where have they gone? Are they in hiding after Joseph’s good game against the “championship contender” Clippers? WHERE ARE THE HATERS? EXPOSE YOURSELVES FOR WELL-DESERVED RIDICULE!
Oh wait. The haters are right here because I was (am?) one of them.
Joseph’s contract definitely seemed like a massive overpay at the time it was handed out and it still seems like a massive overpay. Joseph is a pretty good backup point guard, but he’s likely to be done developing, and he doesn’t really put up stats even when you try to juice up his numbers by using the “Per 36 Minutes” table on his basketball-reference profile, because he’s scoring under ten points per 36. The Kings could have gotten 75% of the steady, low-volume point guard savvy for 25% of the cost, because, as far as I know, Beno Udrih (for example) is still a free agent.
So the haters don’t really need to be ashamed right now. I’m not even going to ridicule them. But now that I’ve coaxed them out of their hate-filled hiding places, we can sit around and hate on Dewayne Dedmon’s contract in the comments section of the video. I’ll get us started: Man, the Kings sure love overpaying their marginal free agent acquisitions, don’t they?
