I’m not the guy who gets salty over bad reffing. Even when it affects my preferred teams, I try not to let bad calls get to me by reminding myself that they happen to every team with roughly the same frequency. The challenge system, while not perfect, has moved the league in the correct direction when it comes to being able to reverse incorrect calls.
Why the Suns didn’t have the option to challenge Kelly Oubre’s lane violation on his own intentionally-missed free throw with four seconds left, I have no idea. That seems totally arbitrary and pointless. It’s not even about whether or not he actually violated the lane. I have no opinion on that because I didn’t watch ultra-slow-mo replays from fifty different angles. It’s about making sure the right call gets made when the game is on the line. If the NBA is going to make an effort to have game-changing calls be challengable, then they shouldn’t go halfway with it.
On a more positive note, Oubre’s in-between game is kinda looking sexy right now, and also his face is just as sexy as ever. If Suns fans need some respite from their seething rage, they can just look up pictures of Oubre looking sultry and they’ll feel better.
