Sus hairstyle not withstanding, Kevin Porter has been looking good for the past few games. I say “looking good” in a general sense, because there are a few things that definitely don’t look good in the literal sense:
-His hair. He can do whatever he wants with it, and, in general, crazy hairstyles at least lend a player more individuality than the same old same old, but the weird braid pile on top of his head makes him look like an alien with an antenna.
-His jumper. Am I tripping or does he shoot it kinda like Kevin Martin? Martin made it work, but Porter’s not far enough along in his career for his jumpshot mechanics to be permanent. You can see it in the free-throws. Porter’s elbow does weird things and he sort of gathers the ball in a “cradling” motion.
Aside from those concerns, Porter has been scoring at a steady clip and doing a good job distracting Cavaliers fans from the looming sense of despair that they carry with them throughout their day-to-day lives. Now the Cavs just need to ship Kevin Love off to Portland and they can let the other Kevin assume a larger role.
