I am beset by rage now. I was led, nay, DECEIVED, into the creation of this video by FALSITIES and LIES. Juan Hernangomez, the target of my fury, is comfortably flying away from Toronto in the Timberwolves’ private jet, waited on by beautiful maidens known as “stewardesses” while I toil away in squalid poverty, alone and unloved, but all that is not the reason for my all-consuming anger.
Hernangomez had only scored twelve points with less than a minute to go in this game. Twelve points for Hernangomez, while a fine total, would not be a fine enough total to justify a highlight video hand-crafted by the NBA highlights pseudo-deity known as DownToBuck (DTB for short). However, Hernangomez decided to blatantly statpad at the end of a lost game by attempting a three-pointer when he could have just stood there and taken a shot-clock violation. His three-point attempt went in, giving him fifteen points, a point total which immediately grabbed my attention as worthy of depiction on my channel.
This is a fake fifteen, my friends. Hernangomez has broken the implicit trust I have with NBA players, and it will take a long and painful healing process before that trust is regained. For a small amount of ill-gotten glory, he has soured the delicate relationship between highlighter and highlightee. For his breach of trust, I should banish him from my channel, or, even better, have the NBA banish him back to Spain, but neither of these outcomes are likely, for DownToBuck, while being a man who is quick to anger, is also a man of forgiveness. In time, I will forgive Hernangomez for statpadding his way to fifteen points. Not tonight. Not tomorrow night. Not tomorrow’s tomorrow night. But, in the end, forgiveness will prevail over fury.
