Kevin Porter Career High 30 Points Full Highlights (2/24/2020)

I’m thinking that right now, right at this very moment, Cavaliers fans are happy for the first time this season. Like, legitimately happy. A happiness that is more than just the absence of frustration. A pure, true happiness. If Cavaliers fans come to this video (and I’m sure a lot of them will come to this video), they will come from a place of happiness.

The Cavs’ season up to this point has not provided many opportunities for happiness. Kevin Love is a malcontent, Collin Sexton is a chucker with no vision, John Beilein was a dud coach, there’s no LeBron but there’s a sad sack of LeBron leftovers named Tristan Thompson, Cedi Osman hasn’t shown much improvement, the team isn’t winning any games, the team isn’t even playing in an entertaining way while they lose and lose and lose…it’s basically all sucked.

A brief reprieve from all of that anguish was provided tonight. The Cavs beat the Heat (the team that originally stole LeBron from them and sent them hurtling back into the basketball stone ages), and, more importantly, rookie Kevin Porter dropped a thirty-burger! Let the joyous trumpets ring proudly in the streets! Unfurl the banners from the high towers! Allow the peasants to emerge from their hovels, out of the drudgery of their wretched lives, to celebrate with ale and roast pig! Summon the court archivist to document the occasion! Kevin Porter is part of the thirty-point club! Send word of it to all the far kingdoms!

As far as I’m concerned, this is the pinnacle of the Cavs’ season. Cavs fans who value their happiness should switch their allegiances to a better team (I hear the Bucks are pretty good right now, but if you don’t want to be a bandwagon fan, the Wizards are a good compromise between “entertainment” and “suckage”). If you’re too loyal to the Cavaliers to give up on them, first of all, I’m sorry, and second of all, you’d better hope that Bickerstaff makes it his priority to feature Porter in the offense from here until the end of the season.
