Christian Wood 20 Points Full Highlights (2/25/2020)

To conclusively prove Christian Wood’s superiority over the recently departed Andre Drummond (departed from the Pistons, that is, not departed from life), I am going to, without bias, analyze each point that Wood scores in this game to determine whether Drummond would have scored in that situation. Let’s get started!

0:03 – Wood does a Euro-step. No way is Drummond ever pulling that off. Ever.

0:13 – Wood hits a little jumper from thirteen feet. Drummond’s shart from this season indicates that Drummond only made three shots from the ten to sixteen-foot range this season. (“Shart” stands for “shot chart”)

0:28 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

0:30 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

0:33 – Wood catches the nice alley-oop pass from Rose for the heavy finish. This alley-oop is something that Drummond could have feasibly done, except he wouldn’t have been running as fast as Wood is.

0:50 – Wood pump-fakes Jokic on the three-point line and takes it all the way to the rack. Drummond was never, ever a perimeter threat, nor was he ever a threat to dribble, so he wouldn’t have ever had the opportunity to pump-fake into a layup.

1:06 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

1:10 – Wood faces up and pops a jumper from twenty feet. Drummond’s shart shows us that he has not made a shot from that range this season. Shart stands for shot chart.

1:22 – Wood makes a floater off the pick-and-roll. I think Drummond could do this, although I wouldn’t be nearly as confident about the success of this shot if he was the one taking it.

1:37 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

1:39 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

1:44 – Wood dunks it again. Drummond could definitely dunk, but he would definitely not dunk while running in from the corner.

1:49 – Wood makes a free throw. Drummond never makes free throws.

As you can conclusively see from the timestamped list above, Drummond would have scored four points on the same opportunities that allowed Wood to score twenty points. Have fun with him, Cavs fans.
