Although the title of this video notes that Jonas Valanciunas had twenty rebounds in this game, giving him the third 20/20 game of his career, the rebounds themselves are not actually depicted. Nobody wants to watch rebounds in a highlight video because rebounds are often just something that happens. An average joe off the street would be able to get a rebound in an NBA game if it bounced right to him.
That said, you can imagine the manner in which Valanciunas amassed twenty rebounds. Here’s what I’m imagining:
-Valanciunas using his meaty Lithuanian…meat…to completely destroy any Lakers players who were in the way of his rebounds
-LeBron James crying while calling his agent and demanding a trade to the Grizzlies
-Anthony Davis lying on the ground literally broken in half by Valanciunas’ superior Lithuanian muscles
-Valanciunas using his advanced trigonometry skills to calculate the angle of rebounds before the shot even gets taken
-Commentators yelling “JÉGA” every time Valanciunas muscles his way to another rebound
-Ghosts of Lithuanian forefathers watching approvingly from heaven as Valanciunas turns JaVale McGee into JaCan’t McRebound
-Jaren Jackson secretly wondering why Valanciunas won’t let him get more rebounds
-Lakers fans trying to decide if it would be worth switching allegiances to the Clippers
And, if you actually want to watch all the rebounds as they happened because your imagination is broken and doesn’t allow you to visualize things, you can always use the NBA’s play-by-play page for this game to look at them all.
