Josh Jackson 16 Points Full Highlights (3/2/2020)

This performance by Josh Jackson may be a little light on the buckets side of things, but it’s heavy on the everything else side of things. He got what I term a “scrub-by-five”, which is where a role-player (not even necessarily a scrub) gets at least 2 of all major boxscore stats. It’s like a five-by-five but way more attainable for players who maybe don’t get to play all the time but still have that nice all-around games.

It pretty much goes without saying that scrub-by-fives are a fairly common occurrence in the NBA, with 266 of them so far, plus one game where a player (Jakob Poeltl) got all the hard stats but forgot to score any points. It’s an easy enough accomplishment that players like Tyler Johnson, Kyle O’Quinn, and Nicolas Batum (this one is really surprising to me) have one. Still, you can add Jackson to the list. 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks.

So if you’re wondering why I had to go and show Jackson’s embarrassing missed dunk, there’s you reason. I have to show all aspects of the scrub-by-five, and it’s not my fault that he flubbed the dunk after the steal. What, was I supposed to just cut the clip off right as he’s running up, looking like he’s going to slam the ball?
