Who even wants Marc Gasol to come back? Nobody besides Marc himself and maybe his brother Pau (and their third brother who never made it to the league, Andreas or something). Other than that, I don’t know why you would want that old dude to come back to the court and be old when you can have a young springy guy like Boucher just running around with arms and legs flailing everywhere.
(For the purposes of this description, ignore Boucher’s true age, which is 27).
I am fully ignoring my Bucks fandom in wishing for Gasol to be out indefinitely. The fact that he was a major part of the reason why the Bucks got knocked out in the ECF Conference Finals, and was also a major part of why the Raptors won a ring, is not biasing my viewpoints in any way. I legitimately would rather see Boucher develop into the kind of two-way big that Lucas Nogueira could never be over watching Marc Gasol trundle around and rely on his savvy to impact the game.
The Raptors’ team doctors must agree with me, because there is no timetable for Gasol to return to the court. They see that it benefits the team going forward to give the minutes that would be going to Gasol to Boucher instead. Gasol’s probably sitting around his apartment, eating Bagel Bites and watching Rocko’s Modern Life on DVD, wondering why his supposed “hamstring injury” doesn’t hurt at all.
