Markelle Fultz 24 Points/5 Assists Full Highlights (3/6/2020)

Markelle Fultz shooting jumpers is really cool and rad, so rad that I’m probably going to make a jumper-ilation for him at the end of the season whether my subscribers like it or not (though I don’t know why they wouldn’t like such a video). But just looking at his free throw form, you can tell he still has a lot of work to do in the jumper area of his game. He’s come a long way, but he has a long way to go still.

In games like this, why even bother with the jumpers? Just take it to the rack, over and over, repeatedly, because the Timberwolves don’t have anyone who can even pretend to be a rim protector. You know what other Magic player didn’t need to shoot jumpers? Shaq. Not saying Fultz is like Shaq, but I actually kind of am. The comparisons are there.

Fultz is just long enough (and crafty enough) that even if his jumper never progresses past where it is now (which is passable, but nothing outstanding), he can do a lot of damage in the paint. We’ve seen it before, he’s been converting nice finishes his whole career, but this game just feels like a real showcase of that aspect of his game.

I’m pretty sure I’m just gonna reuse this description for my upcoming Malik Beasley vid (but not before changing all instances of “Fultz” to “Beasley”, because he also pretty much made nothing but layups and dunks. This was a sick guard layup battle and I don’t think anyone is going to notice.
