I always get hyped when a new scrub gets to appear on my channel, and this instance is no exception. I love it when ultra-super-duper-mega-scrubs have the stars align for them and put together a scoring performance worthy of a DTB highlight video. It’s what I live for, basically. So DaQuan Jeffries, a guy who had only played in seven games and scored a total of eleven points before this game, is the crown jewel in my highlights crown so far during this restart.
The only downside to these bottom-of-the-barrel scrublights is that I struggle to write video descriptions for players about which I know absolutely nothing. Is there some kind if interesting nugget of information that I can latch on to for DaQuan Jeffries, a seed which could bloom into a beautiful video description? Not having any such nuggets at the moment, the only thing I can offer is this.
His name reminds me of DeQuan Jones, a guy who played a considerable amount of minutes in his rookie yea (800 minutes for the 2012-13 Magic) but then never stepped foot on NBA hardwood again. By all measures, Jones had a much more impressive rookie season than Jeffries, so that doesn’t exactly bode well for Jeffries’ prospects as a continued feature on NBA rosters.
His name also reminds me of Jared Jeffries, but everybody just wants to forget about that guy (especially those where misfortunate enough to be subjected to watching him attempt to play basketball) so I’ll drop the subject now.
