This is the time when Dzanan Musa needs to take the reins and announce to the world “I maybe belong in the NBA.” Because everything he has shown us to this point says, “I should be playing in Europe.”
It’s an established fact that this Brooklyn Nets roster which is chilling out in the bubble is lacking in star power. It’s also lacking in many other types of power as well. One could even call it a POWER VOID. Musa has a prime chance to show off his Bosnian power during this POWER VOID. If he doesn’t show off his stuff right now when the minutes and shot opportunities are there, he’ll go into next season with no confidence from the coaching staff and very limited opportunities to get minutes (Durant and Irving will be back, throwing off minutes distributions up and down the lineup).
It didn’t bode well for Musa when he got slapped with a DNP in the second bubble game. But he’s actually shooting above 50% from the field in the bubble games, so at this point you should just be giving him minutes to see if he can sustain that level of production. The worst that can happen is that you lose every game and get brutally swept in the ‘yoffs, but that was going to happen anyway.
