Michael Porter Jr. 27 Points Full Highlights (8/6/2020)

I really thought Michael Porter Jr. was going to drop another thirty-burger in this one, but his grand plans were foiled by the fact that he didn’t score any points at all in the final seven minutes of this game. My plan to eat thirty McDonald’s cheeseburgers in celebration of his thirty-burger was also foiled. I mean, I’m still going through with the plan, but now it’s just a celebration of my own remarkable gluttony, not a celebration of MPJ being a god on the basketball court.

Remember that the NBA record for most consecutive thirty-point games by a single player is two. The record is jointly held by two players: Carlos Delfino and Michael Porter Jr. MPJ had the chance to become the undisputed sole holder of the record, forever relegating Carlos Delfino to second place, but he fell short, and the chance of him ever coming this close to breaking the record is very minute. MPJ is good, but he’s not “score thirty points in three straight” games good. Nobody is that good.

That’s fine by me. Carlos Delfino deserves to have his name in the record books. His back-to-back thirty-point games will never be forgotten. Ever.
