Frank Jackson is looking a bit Richard Simmons-esque with his headband and his big hair poof. You can add him to the list of players who didn’t know what to do with their hair while COVID-19 ravaged the planet so they just let it grow unchecked. In Jackson’s case, he sort of looks cool, in a dorky way, but he also just looks like a dork (in a dorky way). I think that, if given unfettered access to hair stylists, he would never choose to let his hair do that, but what do I know? The Orlando resort complex now has a barbershop so Jackson wouldn’t have to continue carrying around that orb of hair unless he actually wanted to.
Jackson’s hair is big enough now where it could feasibly be affecting his shooting form, Elfrid Payton style. But he wasn’t a great shooter before his hair started expanding, so if he has to adjust his shooting form to account for the new obstacle attached to his head, maybe that will actually result an improvement. That’s big brain stuff right there.
Follicular follies aside, Jackon’s role on the Bubble Pelicans has been unclear. Some games he gets minutes, some games he doesn’t really get minutes. In fact, his role on the Pelicans even outside The Bubb is unclear to me. I can’t even figure out what position he plays. I want to say shooting guard but that might not be correct. His rookie contract ends after this season so it might not matter what his current role is, since he’ll just get a different one when he switches teams. I’ll hold off on expending any more mental energy on him until that happens.
