Edmond Sumner 17 Points Full Highlights (8/12/2020)

After making this highlight video, I have a new hypothesis. I am going to propose it and probably by the time I’m done explaining it, it will stop being just a hypothesis and instead it will be a full-blown theory. Here it is:

What we are experiencing right now is “Summer Sumner”. “Summer Sumner” is the version of Edmond Sumner that exists in the months of June to September. The rest of the months of the year, Summer Sumner ceases to exist and we get “Regular Sumner” instead. And the reason why this matters is because Summer Sumner is at least 2.5 times better than Regular Sumner at basically everything. You just don’t know about it because you never get to see Sumner play during the summer months unless you watch Summer League (which should be renamed “Sumner League” tee bee aitch).

Summer Sumner has scored a total of 18 points in The Bubb, which isn’t a lot, but when you take out his two DNP-CD’s where he was unfairly prevented from scoring any points at all, his numbers look slightly better. They still don’t look like numbers you would expect from somebody who gets drastically better at basketball during the summer months, but just you wait. Summer Sumner is just getting warmed up. This is the first game of the “warm up” period. By the end of the first-round, he’ll be averaging at least 9 PPG per game. Because that’s what Summer Sumner does. He gets buckets.
