Last season, in just his fourteenth NBA game, Chimezie Metu scored ten points on 4-of-8 shooting. Showing an astounding lack of judgement and foresight, I elected not to making a highlight video for Metu’s ten-point scoring outburst, thinking that he would soon score more than ten points and render my efforts wasted.
My friends, I regret that decision every day of my life.
Now, I have taken the first step on the path of atonement. By uploading this highlight video of Chimezie Metu scoring ten points in The Bubb, I know I won’t be filling the Metu-shaped hole in your heart that will forever be a testament to my negligence, but I can at least prevent a new hole from opening. True, this video is worse from a bucketage perspective since Metu only made three shots as opposed to four, but it contains some assists (something which the ignored video would not have included) and it also contains a touching personal anecdote about how Metu sometimes used to play soccer as a kid growing up in Nigeria.
Maybe, one day, Spurs fans will forgive me, but the sins I have committed are so grave that I would completely understand if no forgiveness was ever granted to me. I, truly, do not deserve to be forgiven for my heinous deeds.
