Hamidou Diallo Career High 27 Points Full Highlights (8/14/2020)

Prior to this game, Hamidou Diallo had ZERO twenty-point games in his career. Now he has…ONE twenty point game. And it’s not like he just barely crawled over the twenty-point threshold with some wimpy, pathetic, 21-point game. No, he DOMINATED that threshold (and the Clippers) by posting 27 points, doubling his season high and also doubling the chances that he gets serious minutes in the Bubb ‘yoffs.

I feel like Diallo was highly touted at some point either in college or in high school. But he wasn’t drafted very high (45th overall, meaning he either left college too early or wasn’t very good in college) and, while he was ranked top fifty coming out of high school, he wasn’t near the top of that list either. So either I’m misremembering the hype or the hype was misplaced (or, my analysis of Diallo’s hypeworthiness is flawed in some way).

Anyway, it doesn’t matter now, because hype for Diallo is BACK ON THE MENU. I’m sitting down at the table with the fancy tablecloths in the restaurant where all the waiters have a French accent, and I’m looking at the fancy little menu that only lists ingredients with no other descriptors, and I’m pointing at the menu item that says “HYPE FOR HAMIDOU DIALLO”, and I’m saying “I’ll take five of those please, and a side of french fries, and a salad for my lady friend here.” That’s how HYPED we should all be for Diallo right now.

By the way, the lady friend is your mom. Burn.
