Kendrick Nunn scored 23 points today. Pretty good right? Yeah, it sounds alright until you find out that he needed to shoot 27 shots to score those 23 points. Then, suddenly, it’s not alright anymore. That’s Dillon Brooks territory. That’s Jordan Crawford territory. That’s GETTING KICKED OUT OF THE BUBBLE territory.
Speaking of getting Bubb-banished, I thought Nunn had left The Bubb for some reason. Is he already back? Did they clear him to play? The Bubb has such tight security and such commitment to NBA protocols that there’s no way he could just waltz back into the resort complex and start playing again like it’s no big deal. He can’t just show up courtside wearing a jersey and check into the game. So I can only assume he left, came back, sat through some days of quarantine, and is definitely allowed to play. Although, judging by this game, Heat fans might be wishing he was stuck in quarantine a little while longer.
When the playoffs start, this level of selfish chuckage will not fly. Hopefully Nunn got it all out of his system because he’ll find his butt meeting the bench pretty quickly if he takes 27 shots in Game One while everybody else stands around wondering why he isn’t passing the ball.
