Fred VanVleet: best player on the Raptors?
Maybe your gut reaction is that no, FVV is not the best player on the Raptors. That was my gut reaction too when I first posed the question to myself. My gut also wasn’t very happy because I ate three orders of pretzel bites from Culver’s and then chugged all the extra cheesy dippy sauce. But I’m pretty sure that my gut was reacting to the idea of undrafted FVV being the best player on a championship contender, not the fact that I had assaulted it with a caseous glob of pure heart attack.
When you actually look at the roster, you find some players for whom you could make the argument that they are better than FVV. Kyle Lowry is one of those players. Pascal Siakam is one of those players. Kawhi Leonard is one of those players. But Lowry’s ass is too fat and Siakam has been playing like ass for the the duration of The Bubb and it turns out that Leonard has been on the Clippers this entire season. So FVV has a reasonable claim to the title of “best player on the Raptors”. He is surrounded by ass in various forms, but is not ass himself.
Those who are more knowledgeable than me on the Raptors and the quality of their roster are welcome to correct me. If Lowry is actually ten times more valuable than VanVleet, consider yourself empowered to leave a comment to that effect. However, if you try to make me aware of my incorrectness, I will exercise my right to ignore you and also possibly ban your account from YouTube forever. Man, it’s great to have a monopoly on facts. It’s also great to feel like you have a solid brick of pretzel and cheese squishing your innards into intestinal paste.
